The Hakone Foundation’s seventh annual Lunar New Year Festival will feature entertainment, arts and crafts activities and for the first time this year, a parade for children. Visitors will have a chance to participate in face painting and watch Chinese musical and martial arts performances. The festivities kick off at noon and include a double-lion performance by the Far East Dragon and Lion Dance Association, followed by a calligraphy demonstration and program of traditional Chinese dance, and instrumental music courtesy of Jennifer Liu, who will perform on the Chinese zither. Councilwoman Emily Lo will lead a tai chi demonstration.
