For many Bay Area music lovers, it isn’t summer until the San Francisco Symphony presents its annual outdoor concert at the Stern Grove Festival. The chance to hang with friends, enjoy a picnic and relax to the sounds of the orchestra in the beautiful outdoor amphitheater is one of the most delectable treats of the season. This year’s festival — Stern Grove’s 81st — brings the Symphony back for a free concert conducted by Jayce Ogren. The program features three works by Antonín Dvořák: the zesty and characterful Slavonic Dances Nos. 2 in E minor, 7 in C major, and 8 in G minor. Polish-American pianist Adam Golka, whose credits include the first prize medal at the China Shanghai International Piano Competition, joins the orchestra in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4. Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2 in D Major completes the program.
